O'Rafferty High Senior Class of 1965
Terry Judd

Oct. 2015

Terry Judd died about six years ago, for those who attended Holy Cross. His family had moved behind my parents in Edgemont Park subdivision. So I kept up with him after high school. He served in US Army in Vietnam, and married Donna, and has two sons. He had worked at GM Parts plant on westside. Got to know him even more, as he was part of a golf group that went up north annually for three days, and invited me in the mid 90s.

One story I heard from him was about St Marys high school class before he transferred to Waverly High School. He was in back of class, and saw the nun eyeing him for mischief, so he set her up good. The note he pretended to pass across the aisle she quickly ran down to intercept. He had written on it 'You are cute, Sister'. She turned red and went back to front of class. I still hear his laugh retelling it.

Terry's oldest son works in LA movie stuff, and should be in the credits for second director or something in the Detroit area filmed movie 'Gran Torino' with Clint Eastwood. He got his parents and aunt and uncle in scenes. Donna and her sister are in two crowd scenes at a funeral in St Ambrose church in Grosse Point Park, and first scene early on, she is adjusting little boy's tie at a house get together after the funeral. A scene at a bar (a VFW Hall in Centerline), Terry and his brother inlaw are in background booth drinking a beer. I haven't frozen that frame yet, but Terry said it was the back of his head.
